FARGO (AP) - A third person is facing federal charges in connection with several overdose cases in the Grand Forks area that involved the powerful synthetic drug powdered fentanyl.
Twenty-year-old Joshua Fulp pleaded not guilty Thursday to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances resulting in serious bodily injury and death.
Kain Schwandt and David Noye Jr. are facing the same charge in the case. Authorities say two people died from drug overdoses and three others became seriously ill.
Fulp made his first appearance Thursday in Fargo, dressed in orange jail clothing. He was ordered to return to a Minneapolis substance abuse treatment center. Trial is set for April 28.
