MOORHEAD (KFGO-AM) - With schools at or nearing capacity, the Moorhead School District could be spending major money for needed expansion.
The school board has approved a facilities plan that would require asking taxpayers for as much as $190 million in bonding authority. Nearly $80 million would cover the costs of building a new elementary school, and adding on to Horizon Middle School.
Another part of the facilities plan could involve either building a new high school or adding on to the current building with new classrooms and a new career and technical education center.
The school board is still waiting for a report to see what the cost would be to property owners. No date has been set yet for a bonding vote.
