MOORHEAD, Minn. - A Moorhead man who admitted causing the death of his five-month-old daughter has avoided going to jail.
Andrew Sandstrom was given a four-year suspended sentence and ten years' supervised probation.
Sandstrom accidentally left his daughter in a hot minivan last summer.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton recommended Sandstrom serve one year in jail.
In a deal with prosecutors, Sandstrom earlier pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter.
