BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO-AM) Authorities in North Dakota are accusing a man of impersonating a doctor in order to call in prescriptions.
The 35-year-old man has been arrested after posing as a physician from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Bismarck Police Lt. Steve Cysewski says the man called in prescriptions for controlled substances including a cough syrup with codeine and a medication commonly used to treat insomnia.
The Bismarck man was arrested when he attempted to pick up the prescriptions at a pharmacy. He has not been formally charged and is being held at the Burleigh County Detention Center awaiting a Tuesday court hearing.
