BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO-AM) - North Dakota's House is considering a bill that would require performance audits of the state Health Department and the agency that oversees oil and gas development.
Parshall Democratic Rep. Kenton Onstad is sponsoring the measure that would require the audits at the agencies within the next two years.
Onstad told the House Political Subdivision Committee on Thursday that the audits would ensure that the agencies are enforcing rules related to oil and gas development.
The committee took no action on the measure. The full House will debate it later.
