BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO-AM) North Dakota's Senate has turned down a measure that would make it a felony to assault a health care worker, including putting excrement, urine, blood, spit and other bodily fluids on them.
The Senate voted 31-15 to kill the bill on Wednesday.
It's already a felony under North Dakota law to assault law enforcement, firefighters and some other public officials.
Doctors, nurses and other medical officials wanted privately employed health care workers included under the law.
