DETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- Former Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon is expected to make his first court appearance this morning.
He is facing felony charges of theft-by-swindle, involving the 2012 sale of his boat to the county.
Prosecutors allege Gordon's boat was sold to Becker County for an inflated price and that false documents were used to hide his ownership.
The charges come after a year-long investigation.
The Stearns County Attorney's office is prosecuting the case because of a conflict of interest by the Becker County Attorney's office.
