MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - A judge is being asked to throw out some key evidence in the case of two men charged with using a teenage girl to make a sex video.

Hockey players Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith are accused of making the video in a Moorhead motel room. The Lincoln Stars teammates were in town for a hockey game against the Fargo Force.

Defense attorneys have filed a motion to suppress all evidence gathered by search warrants connected to the case. They also want to suppress statements provided to police investigators and evidence gathered from the search and seizure of a cell phone.

Another motion requests a court order compelling prosecutors to turn over the alleged victim's school and disciplinary records.

Carey and Smith remain free on bond. Another hearing is scheduled next month.
