FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- The National Weather Service has given us the first glimpse at the Spring flood potential. Right now, snow pack, ice thickness and flows are near normal on the Red River.

At this point, the outlook shows a 25-percent chance the Red River in Fargo could near 32 feet, which would affect a couple of streets along the river. A dike is built in the downtown area at 30 feet.

A lot of factors, such as additional snow, total snowpack, rate of melt and thaw and rain in the Spring could affect the flood potential.

The next flood outlook will be issued February 20.
