FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- School board member John Strand has filed for a seat on the city commission. He's the only candidate to file so far for the spot that will be open when Interim Mayor Tim Mahoney runs for mayor in the Apr. 28 special election.
Strand ran for a spot for the commission last June, but came in third in a seven-way race.
Strand told KFGO News in late Dec. that he would be a commission candidate, following the death of Mayor Dennis Walaker.
Strand says if he's elected to the commission, he'll step down from the school board. His school board term expires next year.
