TOWER CITY, ND (KFGO-AM) - Voters in the Maple Valley School District decide whether to build a new high school and major renovation project. Polls are open in Buffalo, Oriska and Tower City until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
If approved, the $10 million bond issue would cover the cost of construction of a new high school in Tower City and the complete renovation of the existing high school into an adjoining elementary school. The two elementary schools in Buffalo and Oriska would then be closed.
Annually, it would cost the owner of a $100,000 home an additional $157 in taxes and $175 in additional taxes on a quarter of land.
Construction of a new high school could begin as early as July. Remodeling of the old high school would start in June of 2016.
