A man is behind bars for the beating death of a homeless man in Fargo last month. Clayton Lockwood, Jr. is being held on a 1st degree manslaughter charge. On November 26th, Fargo police found 54-year-old Mario Perez badly beaten in a vacant apartment downtown.His condition never improved and he died in the hospital about two weeks later.Lockwood was arrested at a home in Elbow Lake.Police say it was a difficult case.Two other people of interest were located and interviewed, but not arrested.Lockwood is awaiting extradition to Cass County.
