MINOT, N.D. (AP) - City officials in Minot are working with a local developer to try to revive construction of two downtown parking ramps in the spring.

Two parking lots were torn up in November 2013 so construction could begin on the ramps that are to provide 225 parking spaces. But activity stopped shortly after when subcontractors left after not getting paid.

The City Council last October approved changes to its agreement with Cypress Development in an effort to help the developer get more financing. The new agreement extends the city's property lease with Cypress from four years to nine years to allow more time to complete the full $27 million project which also includes retail and residential development.

A final agreement could be reached next month.
