Bismarck, N.D. (AP) A Mandan man charged with negligent homicide in a fatal car crash has been released after posting $300 bond.
Twenty-four-year-old Jacob Cook is charged in a November 8th crash that killed his passenger, 24-year-old Joshua Leaverton. The Highway Patrol says Cook's car spun and rolled into a ditch when he attempted to pass a vehicle on an Interstate 94 on-ramp.
A warrant was issued for Cook's arrest on Tuesday, and the Bismarck Tribune reports he was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Cook faces up to five years in prison if convicted. He's due in court January 12th and could enter a plea at that time. His attorney did not immediately respond to an Associated Press request for comment on Friday.
