Alexander, N.D. (AP) The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the identity of the Wisconsin man who died in a three-vehicle crash in the state's oil patch.
The Highway Patrol has identified the man as 21-year-old Bretton Gimse of Union Grove, Wisconsin. The incident happened shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday on u.S. Highway 85, about 5 miles north of Alexander.
Authorities say the car driven by Gimse collided with a pickup truck that had turned in front of the car. The car came to rest on the highway and was struck moments later by a large work truck hauling a flatbed trailer loaded with pipe.
Gimse died at a Williston hospital. The two people in the pickup truck, from Pennsylvania and Arizona, suffered undisclosed injuries. The person in the work truck wasn't hurt.
