FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Engineers briefed Fargo City Commissioners on a couple of options for pedestrian access over the downtown floodwall along 2nd Street east of city hall. A crosswalk is the least costly, ranging from $350,000 to $500,000. A pedestrian bridge could run as much as $2 million.
Based on directions from commissioners, engineers will finalize which option they'll recommend to the city commission in several weeks.
Construction of the floodwall will begin next year and is expected to take two years to complete. City leaders want the public pedestrian access to the river completed at the same time.
