Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Gerald W. Vandewalle has been unanimously re-elected as chief justice of the North Dakota Supreme Court.
Supreme court justices and district judges on Monday voted to re-elect Vandewalle. His five-year term will begin Jan. 1.
Vandewalle has been the chief justice since 1993. He was appointed to the state's supreme court in 1978 by Gov. Arthur Link.
He is a native of Noonan.
