Williston, N.D. (AP) Williston officials are considering requests to repair a senior living facility's unfinished parking lot and sidewalks.
Officials say Lutheran Social Services is working with the city and a new contractor to schedule repairs to the legacy living apartments. The building's elderly tenants have expressed optimism about possible fixes.
Tenant Karen Ylinen says the building appears to be out of compliance and is dangerous to residents. She sent commissioners photos of wooden ramps, unmarked drop offs and gas mains.
Construction to convert the building to affordable rental housing for tenants ages 55 and older began in 2012. It was expected to be completed in December 2013.
Mayor Howard Klug says there's no possibility that the building will close and the city is discussing how to promptly finish construction.
