Storm closing schools, messing with commute, snowfall amounts

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesotans are again dealing with snow and cold after enduring a harsh winter.

A November storm was pushing through the state Monday, dumping more than a foot of snow in parts of central Minnesota.

The National Weather Service says as of mid-afternoon, 16.5 inches of snow was reported in St. Augusta, 13 inches in Kimball, 11 in Istanti and 8 in Mora.

The State Patrol says 180 accidents have been reported statewide, with about 130 in the Twin Cities metro area since 5 a.m. The patrol says none of the crashes have been fatal.

Some school districts decided to cancel classes Monday, including St. Cloud Area Schools, Albany, Sauk Rapids-Rice and Sartell. Minneapolis Public Schools canceled after-school and evening activities.

St. Cloud Hospital canceled its Tuesday Veterans Day ceremony.
