MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - Attorneys for two hockey players accused of making a sex video with a 15-year-old girl in Moorhead are asking for more information about how their clients allegedly broke the law.
Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith are charged with using a minor in a sexual performance, and possession and distribution of child pornography. In court documents, defense attorneys say Carey and Smith have not been sufficiently told what acts they committed.
The attorneys say their clients are entitled to a description of the images, the approximate time of distribution, as well as to whom, and where they were distributed. They're asking a judge to order prosecutors to produce the information, or dismiss two of the charges.
Prosecutors say the video was made in a Moorhead motel room and distributed to an unknown number of people.
