Valley City, N.D. (AP) Residents of Valley City have narrowly voted to approve money for a proposed wellness center.
Unofficial results from Tuesday's election show 51 percent of the 2,316 voters favored extending a half percent sales tax to generate up to $3 million for the Valley City health, wellness and physical education center.
The $16 million facility will be a joint venture of the city, Chi Mercy Health and Valley City State University. VCSU students in October approved a fee increase to help fund the center's operating expenses.
