Medora, N.D. (AP) Theodore Roosevelt National Park has named a new acting superintendent. The National Park Service has chosen Wendy Ross to oversee the park in Medora. Ross is the current superintendent of Knife River Indian Villages national historic site in Stanton.

Ross is taking on the job at a time when the park is considering doubling some of its entrance fees. A proposal is calling for an increase of the per-vehicle cost to enter the park from $10 in 2014 to $20 in may 2015.

Ross has a 20-year career with the park service. She's worked at Yellowstone National Park, Shiloh National Military Park, and North Cascades and Glacier National parks.

Ross's assignment is expected to last up to four months while officials complete the formal selection process for a new superintendent.
