FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A suspended West Fargo high school teacher facing felony charges of having sex with a student has pleaded not guilty.
Aaron Knodel is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17 year-old student about five years ago. Prosecutors say Knodel had sex with the girl in a classroom, a car and at his home. He's the current North Dakota Teacher of the Year.
The attorney general's office is handling the case. Both the Cass County and Grand Forks County State's Attorneys offices concluded that they had potential conflicts.
Knodel's lawyer has said that the claims of the girl are not true.
