FARGO (KFGO-AM) A very bold attempted theft along a busy road in Fargo. Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at the former Hooters Restaurant in the 1600 block of 38th Street South.
Officers discovered a parked suv and next to it, an industrial-sized air conditioner. Under questioning, police determined the driver was in the process of dismantling the unit to get at the copper after finding out it was too large to fit into his truck.
Michael Hurst, 27, of West Fargo was arrested on charges of theft, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The incident was reported around 2 p.m. Friday.
