Bismarck, N.D. (AP) More North Dakota National Guard soldiers who have been serving in Afghanistan are back in the United States.
About 25 soldiers with the Bismarck-based 814th Medical Company arrived at Fort Hood in Texas on Monday. They'll go through the demobilization process and then return to North Dakota.
The 40-person company deployed to Afghanistan in January to provide emergency trauma service and operate troop medical clinics. The soldiers are coming home early as part of a drawdown of American troops in that country.
Smaller groups of 814th soldiers came back in August and September.
