Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) A task force working on a plan for a new University of North Dakota nickname has scheduled meetings to hear from alumni, students, staff, fans and the general public.
The nickname group is working on a proposal that will be presented to UND President Robert Kelley by the end of the year.
The first meeting is scheduled to be held with student athletes and the student advisory committee on November 5th. The task force plans to invite up to 100 people for public meetings on November 6th through 7th.
The school's Fighting Sioux nickname was retired in June 2012. The legislature enacted a three-year moratorium on a new moniker.
