MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - An arrest has been made in the theft of new vehicles worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a BNSF storage lot in Dilworth. Forty-year-old Jamie Lee Bevins of White Earth, Minn. is in the Clay County jail on charges of felony theft and receiving stolen property.
Court documents say Bevins told investigators that he was among six people who were brought to the lot and told he could buy a vehicle at a "low price." When the group arrived, Bevins said the gate was opened and the group was told to select the vehicles of their choice.
Dilworth police have said the case may be the largest theft investigation they've ever handled.
The complaint says Bevins was identified through surveillance video by an officer with the White Earth Police Dept.
Bond for Bevins was set at $30,000.
