FARGO - Zach Vraa is all the way back from a foot injury suffered a couple of weeks ago.
The senior receiver caught a career-high nine passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 1-ranked North Dakota State to a 34-17 victory over 22nd-rated Indiana State on Saturday at the Fargodome.
Carson Wentz completed 20 of 29 passes for 222 yards for the Bison, who improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. It was NDSU's 31st straight victory.
Running back John Crockett had 101 yards and two TDs rushing for the Bison.
Vraa injured his right foot in a victory at Western Illinois on Oct. 4. At the time, Bison coach Chris Klieman said he expected Vraa to miss several games. But Vraa played last week in a home victory against Southern Illinois, although he wasn't at full speed.
He was against the Sycamores. Vraa caught a 48-yard TD pass from Wentz to give the Bison a 20-0 lead with 11:59 left in the second quarter. His 3-yard scoring reception in the third quarter made it 27-3 Bison.
The Bison dominated the Sycamores and led 34-3 midway through the fourth quarter. But Indiana State scored a touchdown against the Bison's second-team defense and Jordan Wallace returned a fumble 72 yards for a touchdown.
NDSU plays at South Dakota next Saturday.
