FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Fargo Deputy Mayor Tim Mahoney says Master Construction has been unfairly singled out for delays it encountered in completing work on 19th Ave. No. reconstruction.
The company asked for a 90-day extension on the project that started in April, citing unexpected problems beyond its control. A 37-day extension was recommended by a city committee.
Mahoney says Master Construction is not the only contractor that's had difficulties this year and asked for more time. He says 13 companies asked for extensions on 30 projects. He says Master Construction and Dakota Underground are the two contractors with the most issues, but they bid on the most projects.
Mahoney says Commissioner Dave Piepkorn's criticism about the 19th Ave. delays and his open invitation for the public to vent about the delays is unfair to the Master Construction.
