FARGO (KFGO-AM) - The Secret Service agent perhaps best known for leaping aboard President Kennedy's limousine after shots rang out in Dallas, says the agency needs to change its attitude about presidential security.
Larimore, ND native Clint Hill says he's disappointed with the recent rash of security lapses involving the White House and President Obama.
“When you’re in protective mode for the Secret Service, any mistake can be fatal,” according to Hill. "I’ve seen it happen, it should never happen, and I hope to God it never happens again.”
Hill says Secret Service agents “need to change their attitude, be more observant and pay more attention to detail. When they’re on duty, it’s a life or death situation.”
Hill says the incursions, which include a man who scaled the White House fence and ran inside the building, are "disturbing" and the result of "poor judgment."
