BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO-AM) -- North Dakota democrats have asked the attorney general's office to block access to the confidential information of 48,000 college and university students.
Party Chairman Bob Valeu says Odney President Pat Finken made the request in an email to the university system earlier this month. Valeu says Odney shouldn't be able to use the university system as its "private data farm." Odney handles most of the marketing and advertising for state government and also works for republican party candidates.
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says he's turned Odney's request over to the university system. He says he believes that the records are routinely requested.
