FARGO, N.D. - Adam Keller kicked a school-record five field goals to lead No. 1-ranked North Dakota State to a 22-10 win over No. 3/4-ranked Montana before a sellout crowd of 18,890 at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome on Saturday, Sept. 20.NDSU (4-0) extended its FCS-record winning streak to 28 games and moved its home winning streak to 16 games, which is tops in Division I football. The Bison have won 36 straight non-conference home games since 2003.Keller connected from 41, 22, 32 and a season-long 47 yards in the first half as NDSU scored on four of its first five possessions. His 30-yarder with 1:43 left in the game capped a 13-play, 46-yard drive that ate up more than 7 minutes of the fourth quarter.NDSU's only touchdown of the game was a 3-yard pass from Carson Wentz to tight end Kevin Vaadeland that made it 19-10 late in the third quarter. Montana (2-2) drove to the NDSU 17 on the next possession before committing its first turnover of the season - a Christian Dudzik interception in the end zone.Wentz finished 16 of 24 passing for 167 yards and John Crockett rushed 28 times for 144 yards as NDSU outgained Montana 447 to 256 in total offense. The Bison controlled the clock with a 39:06 to 20:54 advantage in time of possession.Linebacker Travis Beck led the Bison defense with a season-high nine tackles, and cornerback Jordan Champion had a career-high eight stops and two pass breakups. Defensive end Kyle Emanuel had three quarterback hurries.The Grizzlies trailed 9-0 before getting a 72-yard passing play from Jordan Johnson to Jamaal Jones to set up a 3-yard TD run by Jordan Canada in the second quarter. Daniel Sullivan added a 20-yard field goal for the Griz late in the second quarter to cut the halftime deficit to 12-10.Johnson was 15 of 29 for 188 yards and Canada ran 12 times for 48 yards. Jeremiah Kose had 16 tackles to lead the Griz defense, Kendrick Van Ackeren had 13 stops and Herbert Gamboa and Matt Hermanson had 11 each.The previous NDSU record of four field goals made was set by Ken Kubisz in 1983 at Dacotah Field against Augustana (S.D.) and tied by Keller at Northern Iowa in 2012. Keller has converted 13 straight field goal attempts.North Dakota State is off for a week before opening Missouri Valley Football Conference play at Western Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 4.
