FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A new round of job cuts across the Microsoft system will have an affect in Fargo.
Senior Director and Fargo Site Leader Don Morton says a number of positions in Fargo will be eliminated. He says employees have been told of the reductions and a support program is in place.
In July, Morton told Sen. John Hoeven that Fargo wouldn't be affected by a worldwide workforce reduction of 18,000 announced then. Microsoft hasn't released specific layoff numbers for Fargo.
In late 2013, Microsoft employed nearly 900 people in Fargo. Another 700 worked for vendors at the Fargo campus.
