FARGO (KFGO-AM) Fargo Police Chief Keith Ternes says surveillance video has led to an arrest in connection with last Thursday's broad daylight assault of a mall employee in the parking lot at West Acres Shopping Center.
Ternes says a 15-year old Fargo boy was taken into custody by police Wednesday afternoon at school in West Fargo. The teen was referred to juvenile court on charges of robbery and attempted kidnapping.
Mall manager Chris Heaton says based on a description from outdoor surveillance video, mall security located the suspect on 44 seperate video clips that include high definition face shots taken from interior mall camera's.
Ternes says a detective recognized the teen from previous contact and he was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at school in West Fargo.
The 58 year old victim was punched in the face but did not suffer serious injuries but Heaton says she is dealing with emotional trauma as a result of the assault.
