BRUSHVALE, MN (KFGO-AM) -- An employee of Brushvale Elevator north of Breckenridge is lucky to be alive after he was trapped in a bin at the elevator Tues. morning.
Breckenridge Fire Chief Brian Conzemius says he could only see the man's head and arms above the corn when firefighters got into the bin, 60-80 feet off the ground. He says fire crews used special grain elevator rescue panels to keep the corn from burying the man.
Sanford's Air-Med helicopter from Fargo was sent to Brushvale, but the man was able to walk away on his own.
Fire departments from Breckenridge, Wahpeton, Dwight and Rothsay responded to the call. Conzemius says the donated equipment and training for this type of rescue paid off.
