HALSTAD, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- Sexual assault charges have been dropped against
Halstad, Minnesota Mayor Steve Sortland.
His former girlfriend accused him of rape.
In June, Sortland pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal sexual conduct.
He also filed a restraining order against the woman saying she was confronting his kids and telling them details of the alleged rape.
The judge ordered the woman to stay away from Sortland and his children for two-years.
Sortland is currently on a leave of absence, but has asked that the be cancelled. he will be back to his mayoral duties after the next city council meeting.
