Fargo, N.D. (AP) A send-off was held Sunday for members of a North Dakota National Guard unit based in Fargo. Fifteen members of the North Dakota Army National Guard's 231st Brigade Support Battalion Logistical Support Element are going on a yearlong deployment. The soldiers will travel overseas to provide logistical support to U.S. Central Command units, including the management of supply, maintenance, transportation and cargo movement activities. They have completed a number of pre-certification trainings and tests to prepare for the mission. The soldiers, all of whom belong to the unit headquarter in Fargo, are from five North Dakota and Minnesota cities. Governor Jack Dalrymple and Major General David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota's Adjutant General, spoke at the event.
