FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Fargo City Commissioners will be asked Monday to consider the possibility of converting the Civic Memorial Auditorium into a performing arts center.
Commissioner Mike Williams, who led a delegation of commissioners, city staff, developers and others on a two-day trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Lincoln, Nebraska this week, says a feasibility study should be conducted. Centennial Hall, which is attached to the Civic, will be torn down as part of the downtown floodwall project.
Sioux Falls turned a former high school in an 1,800 seat performing arts center known as Washington Pavillion. The building also contains art galleries and a children's science museum.
