FARGO (KFGO-AM) --The mother of Andrew Sadek says she believes her son was murdered.
The body of the North Dakota State College of Science student was found in the Red River near Breckenridge on June 27, nearly two months after he was last seen.
Sadek died of a gunshot to the head. The gun has not been found, and Tammy Sadek says her son was not suicidal. She says Andrew's backpack was weighted down with rocks and he was thrown into the river.
NDSCS Police say based on the facts of the case, they don't believe there is any threat to the campus community or the public.
Sadek was under investigation for selling marijuana to an undercover informant, and a warrant was issued for his arrest a week after his disappearance for delivery of a controlled substance.
The case remains open and the search for the gun continues.
