SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KFGO-AM) - Fargo leaders have headed south to see what other cities are doing with the arts and convention facilities.
The trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Lincoln, Nebraska was organized by Fargo City Commissioner Mike Williams and sponsored by the F-M Convention and Visitors Bureau.
KFGO News Director Paul Jurgens is with the group. He says the Falls Park on the Big Sioux River near downtown Sioux Falls attracts at least 750,000 visitors a year. Up to $10,000,000 was put toward the development. It hosts concerts, a farmers market, art shows and an outdoor Christmas event. Another stop is Sculpture Walk in downtown Sioux Falls where 55 pieces of original works are on display.
Three city commissioners, architects, local developers and Fargodome representatives are among those on the trip. The group moves on to Lincoln to look at arena facilities and parking ramps.
