AMIDON, N.D. (AP) - The last remaining wood-frame courthouse in North Dakota will soon be history.
The Slope County Commission on Aug. 19 will accept bids for the demolition of the courthouse in Amidon. The century-old building is being replaced by a $4 million brick courthouse under construction nearby.
The modern courthouse is expected to be ready in about two months. Some of the old courthouse furnishings will be sold at auction. The space where the current courthouse sits will be turned into a parking lot.
