FARGO (KFGO-AM) - A Fargo real estate agent accused of stealing more than $50,000 in cash and jewelry from a neighbor's home plans to plead guilty. A change of plea hearing is scheduled next month for Charles Carney.
Carney is charged with two counts of felony theft. Cass county prosecutors say Carney stole "multiple pieces of jewelry" and around $24,000 in cash.
The victim's attorney says Carney was a trusted friend who had a key and "carte blanche" access to the property.
Fargo police say some of the stolen jewelry was found in local pawn shops.
