FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- The Fargo Park District has been asked to consider a $2 million contribution to a proposal that would add two more sheets of ice to Scheel's Arena.
The manager of the arena made the pitch to the park board's facilities commission. Two, 500-seat arenas would be built along with six locker rooms. The $2 million would cover about a quarter of the overall cost.
Board member Matt Magness says he likes the idea. But, he says there may be opposition since taxpayers' were promised years ago that they would not be asked to help pay for an addition to the rink at 32nd Ave. west of 45th St.
Park district staff will study the proposal before making a recommendation.
