MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a former member of the Fargo Invaders football team who's accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
Clay County, Minn. prosecutors have charged 24-year-old Sedne "Leon" Williams with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Chief Assistant County Attorney Pamela Harris says Williams knows he is "wanted", but has failed to turn himself in. Harris says Williams sexually assaulted the girl twice on the same day; one assault happened in Moorhead, the other took place in Dilworth.
Court documents say the girl told investigators that she'd been drinking and smoking marijuana with Williams in Fargo’s Lindenwood park on the day the assaults happened.
Invaders General Manager Matt Petznick says Williams "clearly violated" team policy and has been released. In a statement, Petznick said "The Fargo Invaders had no prior recollection of the event, and we sympathize with the victim's family."
