BISMARCK (KFGO-AM ND PUBLIC RADIO) -- The Public Service Commission has opened a formal investigation into recent power outages for Xcel Energy customers in Fargo.
Commission Chairman Brian Kalk asked for the investigation after two power outages last weekend and another on Monday night, all in north Fargo. Equipment failure was blamed for the first two.
The PSC will also look into whether a contractor who cut an underground line that caused the Monday night outage had followed the state's "call before you dig" law.
