FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A stormy night across North Dakota. Thunderstorms produced heavy rain, some hail, at least one tornado and a funnel cloud sighting.
Two fires, possibly started by lightning were reported early Thursday in the F-M area. A shed burned to the ground in south Fargo and there was minor damage to the exterior of a home near Comstock, south of Moorhead.
Just over 1" of rain was reported at the KFGO studios. Wahpeton-Breckenridge saw 3.2" of rain.
The National Weather Service says a tornado was on the ground for about a minute southwest of Ashley, in south central North Dakota. A funnel was spotted near Streeter in Stutsman County. Wind damage occured at a home and farm buildings in Kidder and Stutsman Counties, along with power outages. Winds were clocked at 90mph in Bismarck and Ellendale.
