FARGO, N.D. Development of Edgewood Estates on the former Cardinal Meunch property on Fargo's north side is a step closer.
The planning commission unanimously approved the development for 60 single family housing lots across 89 acres.
People living near the project hope to stall the vote.
About 90 people have signed a petition against the project.
Gary Miller lives on the corner of 35th avenue and one of his biggest concerns like many others is the temporary dike going into the north side.
Speed bumps would be eliminated and a private road will become public.
Some residents have expressed concerns about increased traffic.
Planning member Kristy Fremstad agrees that safety is a concern but she says the project is necessary for schools in the area to grow.
It's up to the city commission to make the final decision.
