MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - Prosecutors say a Moorhead man beat a teenage girl multiple times with a belt and punched her with his fists.
Forty-four year-old Gilbert Sifuentes is charged with child neglect or endangerment, malicious punishment of a child and domestic assault.
According to court documents, investigators found lash marks, bruising and facial swelling on the 16-year-old relative. The girl told investigators she was struck about 20 times with the belt and punched about 20-25 times. The victim said Sifuentes used his knees to hold down her hands while the beatings took place.
The girl said she was beaten about 8-10 times over four months while Sifuentes was abusing drugs.
Sifuentes has a criminal history that includes harboring illegal aliens and possession of meth.
