GRAND FORKS  (KNOX-AM) -- Around 225 people participated in a unity march on the University of North Dakota campus Friday.  Many carried signs or wore t-shirts with the slogan “Walk for Change.”

The march is in protest to t-shirts that showed up during last week’s Springfest event that have been called racist toward native Americans.  Students, faculty and community leaders walked down University Ave.  UND President Robert Kelley was near the front of the lineMayor Mike Brown and city council President Hal Gershman issued a joint written statement that as a community, it’s important to speak out against intolerance.

As the march began a shout rang out from a passing motorist….”Go Sioux.”
