FARGO (KFGO-AM) Fargo Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting incident early Thursday. 22-year old Armando Zavala of Fargo was taken into custody several hours after 9-1-1 callers reported multiple shots fired outside an apartment building at 4822 47th Street South.
An initial search of the area by a large number of heavily armed officers didn't find anything but based on eyewitness descriptions, Zavala was detained as he left the building. After questioning, he was arrested on charges of theft of firearms and felon in possession of a firearm.
Police recovered a handgun and a rifle hidden in a nearby ditch. Police say the weapons were allegedly stolen from a friend's apartment. Investigators have not determined a motive but say it does not appear zavala meant to harm anyone.
